The Needcontainers horizontally mounted tap grid is an engineered solution for industrial environments seeking to optimise the recovery of emulsifiable oil used in cooling and lubrication during metalworking. Designed to integrate easily with standard containers or customised collection systems, this grid effectively separates metal chips from the cooling lubricant, extending the useful life of the oil and reducing operational waste.
Materials
Made of perforated S235JR structural steel sheet or higher, the grid exploits the principle of gravitational separation: the heavier, solid chips are retained on the upper surface, while the emulsifiable oil filters through the calibrated holes and collects in the lower part of the container. Drainage is via a horizontally mounted 3/4″ tap (code RSO 20001), which ensures controlled, precise and leak-free drainage, ideal for both continuous fluid recovery and scheduled maintenance operations.
This solution not only improves the efficiency of the production cycle, but also supports environmental sustainability and regulatory compliance: recovering clean oil means reducing purchases of new fluid, limiting the production of hazardous waste and optimising disposal costs. The structure is built with certified, traceable materials sourced from suppliers that comply with the UNI EN ISO 9001 standard, ensuring resistance to wear, corrosion and mechanical stress typical of industrial environments.
Thanks to the flexibility of the Needcontainers technical department, the grid can be customised according to customer requirements: dimensions, sheet thickness, mounting position or surface treatments such as hot-dip galvanising or epoxy painting. The horizontal design is perfectly suited to confined spaces or systems with specific installation constraints, offering maximum versatility without compromising performance.
